1. About this Privacy Policy
MedborgarPrep is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by UHR, Migrationsverket, Skolverket, or the Swedish government.
This Privacy Policy applies when you visit MedborgarPrep, create an account, use study features, purchase access, accept an invite, contact support, submit feedback, or otherwise interact with the Service.
We aim to collect only the personal data needed to provide, secure, improve, and support MedborgarPrep.
2. Personal data we collect
The personal data we collect depends on how you use MedborgarPrep.
Account and profile data: when you create or use an account, we may process:
- full name
- email address
- account ID or user ID
- authentication provider information
- language preference
- theme preference
- account status
- paid or free access status
- invite or referral status
- timestamps such as account creation, updates, sign-in events, or access changes
Study activity data: when you use learning and practice features, we may process:
- lesson progress
- completed lessons or modules
- practice attempts
- selected answers
- correct and incorrect results
- scores
- saved questions
- mistake history
- mock test or practice session history
- exam date or study goal, if you choose to add it
- feedback or report-issue submissions linked to learning content or questions
Payment and access data: when you purchase or receive access, we may process:
- purchase status and access status
- product purchased
- price, currency, and payment date
- payment provider reference IDs, such as checkout, session, payment, or customer references
- refund, withdrawal, chargeback, cancellation, or access-revocation status
- invite benefit status connected to a paid account
- billing email if provided through the payment flow
Payments are handled by third-party payment providers, such as Stripe. MedborgarPrep does not store full card numbers, CVV codes, or raw payment card details.
Support, contact, and feedback data: when you contact us or submit information through support, contact, feedback, refund, withdrawal, or report-issue features, we may process:
- contact form submissions
- support emails
- refund or withdrawal requests
- report-issue submissions
- feedback messages
- message content
- contact details provided by you
- related account, product, lesson, question, or payment reference where relevant
- timestamps and handling status
Technical, security, and usage data: when you use MedborgarPrep, we may process limited technical data needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service, such as:
- device and browser information
- approximate technical location information, such as country or region, where available
- IP address
- log data
- error and diagnostic data
- security events
- pages or features used
- cookie or consent preferences where applicable
3. Sensitive personal data
MedborgarPrep does not intentionally collect personal numbers or sensitive personal information.
Please do not send sensitive information through contact forms, support messages, or feedback tools unless it is necessary for your request.
If you choose to include sensitive information in a message to us, we will use it only to handle your request and protect it appropriately.
4. How we use personal data
We use personal data to:
- create and manage accounts
- provide learning content, practice questions, assessments, progress tracking, and study features
- provide paid access, invite benefits, refunds, withdrawals, and entitlement management
- process support, contact, feedback, and report-issue requests
- send essential service communications
- maintain security and prevent fraud, abuse, scraping, unauthorized access, refund abuse, chargeback abuse, and misuse
- troubleshoot errors and maintain the Service
- understand aggregate product usage and improve MedborgarPrep
- comply with legal, accounting, tax, consumer, and regulatory obligations
- establish, exercise, or defend legal claims where necessary
5. Legal bases for processing
We process personal data only when we have a lawful basis to do so.
Depending on the situation, we may process personal data because:
- it is necessary to provide the Service or perform an agreement with you
- it is necessary to comply with legal obligations, such as accounting, tax, consumer, or regulatory requirements
- it is necessary for legitimate interests, such as security, support, product improvement, fraud prevention, abuse prevention, and service reliability
- you have given consent, for example for non-essential cookies or certain optional communications, where consent is required
When processing is based on consent, you may withdraw your consent at any time.
6. Analytics and tracking
MedborgarPrep may use privacy-friendly analytics to understand aggregate usage and improve the Service.
We do not use advertising tracking, sell personal data, or use cross-site marketing pixels by default.
If we use non-essential cookies or similar technologies, we will ask for consent where required.

7. AI and personal data
MedborgarPrep does not use your personal data, private study progress, answers, scores, support messages, payment or access data, or sensitive personal information for AI-generated responses or AI training.
8. Service communications
MedborgarPrep may contact you by email or in-app message for essential service matters, including:
- account and security notices
- login, authentication, or password messages
- purchase receipts and payment or access confirmations
- refund or withdrawal handling
- support replies
- important product, privacy, Terms, or legal updates
- serious service, security, or discontinuation notices
Marketing or newsletter emails are not used at launch. If marketing emails are introduced later, they will be handled separately from essential service communications and will follow applicable consent and unsubscribe requirements.
10. International transfers
MedborgarPrep is operated from Sweden, but some service providers may process personal data outside Sweden, the EU, or the EEA.
Where this happens, we use appropriate safeguards where required by data protection law.
11. How long we keep personal data
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
In general:
- account and profile data is kept while your account exists
- study progress and activity data is kept while your account exists, unless deleted or reset earlier
- payment and access records are kept as needed for access management, refunds, accounting, tax, disputes, legal obligations, and fraud prevention
- support, contact, feedback, refund, and withdrawal messages are kept as long as needed to handle the request and for reasonable follow-up, dispute, or legal purposes
- technical and security logs are kept for a limited period unless needed longer for security, abuse prevention, troubleshooting, or legal reasons
If your account is deleted, we will delete or anonymize personal data where possible. Some records may be kept where required or necessary for accounting, tax, consumer rights, fraud prevention, dispute handling, security, or legal obligations.
12. Your rights
Depending on the situation and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- request access to your personal data
- request correction of inaccurate personal data
- request deletion of personal data
- request restriction of processing
- object to processing
- request data portability where applicable
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, IMY

Where practical, account-related privacy requests should be submitted using the email address connected to your MedborgarPrep account.
13. Children and younger users
MedborgarPrep is not intended for children under 13.
If you are under 18, you may use MedborgarPrep only with permission from a parent or legal guardian where required. Purchases must be made by someone legally allowed to make the purchase, or with any required guardian approval.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal data to MedborgarPrep, please contact us.
14. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure.
No online service can guarantee complete security. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for contacting us if you believe your account has been accessed without permission.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users by email, in-app notice, website notice, or another suitable method where appropriate.
The “Last updated” date shows when this Privacy Policy was most recently updated.
